Our School

Our new pre-preparatory school was the result of loving parents wanting to see their children continue to be educated by a dedicated team of experienced teachers, and the idea to link my passion for teaching children in a countryside environment was an opportunity not to be missed.

At Hollyfields we believe that children, who are happy, will learn if they are cared for in a safe and secure environment. With our new classrooms, modern facilities, idyllic surroundings and experience we help children develop their knowledge and understanding in an enjoyable way.

All children broadly follow the National Curriculum, with the emphasis on good literacy and numeracy, enriched by utilising our rural setting. Our small learning groups allow the children to develop at their own pace in each subject area. Alongside this, we nurture each child to promote self-esteem, confidence, manners and respect for each other.

Our partnership with parents is a major strength of the school. Parents are encouraged to participate in "Friends of Hollyfields" and contribute in different ways, such as assisting in hearing children read in the mornings.

A qualified learning support teacher is available for one to one tuition if necessary and a music teacher offers individual lessons in recorder and keyboard. Extra curricular activities, such as French, cookery, choir, football, cricket, arts and craft are offered every night after school. We also recognise the pressures of modern family life and provide early start care from 8am and after school care until 6pm.

If you would like to know more the children and I would be delighted to meet you and show you round our unique school.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Anne Miller (Cert. of Ed.)
Head Teacher
